Smartcode Local is a studio that is at once physical, virtual, and traveling. Since 1980, principal Sandy Sorlien has explored all fifty states, collecting the traditional wisdom of American rural landscapes, small towns, and city neighborhoods. Since 2004 she has worked intensively with the new urbanist model SmartCode created by DPZ & Co. for the planning, protection, and zoning of walkable mixed-use neighborhoods. SmartCode Local offers:
